This conference gave me a valuable introduction to local colleagues interested in the curation and presentation of images. Although most of the participants came from art museums or archives there was considerable interest in creating an online presence, aspects of metadata related to cataloging collections and collections management software. Several of the presentations covered technical issues not encountered by HCLE. My most important take-away was that no one has a complete solution to the problem of managing large collections of digital images -- yet.
